Welcome to Prince Edward County!

Not so long ago our home was known as the “Garden of Canada’ – read on, and we’re sure you’ll understand why. Our community has been deeply rooted in agriculture for as far back as anyone can remember. In 1911 the County had 400,000 fruit trees planted – over 10,000 acres! Today, 700 acres of land are under vine, making grapes the predominant fruit grown here. In fact, this little island used to provide 1/3 of all canned produce for all of Canada! Farming is a way of life here, and we take our food seriously.

Combine our passion for growing great food with the undeniable beauty of Sandbanks Provincial Park – home to the largest freshwater bay mouth barrier dune system in the world – and you’ve got yourself one spectacular local BBQ!

Whether you’re visiting one of countless local family farms, sipping vintages at one of 34 Prince Edward County wineries, savouring mouth-watering dishes on The Taste Trail or soaking up the crystal clear waters on Sandbanks’ white sand beaches, we hope this map will help guide you on your way.

Stop and stay awhile, open up your senses to this rural piece of heaven, and be sure to arrive on an empty stomach!

We thank you for supporting local food – enjoy your stay!

In good health,
Harvestin’ the County
